Initial National Certification of School Nurses Scholarship

The Initial National Certification of School Nurses Scholarship (formerly the Imelda Ramon Memorial Scholarship) is dedicated to advocating for school nurse leaders to become certified in the specialty practice of school health & nursing. Validating the expertise of nurse leaders by becoming nationally certified enhances professional growth and supports nurse leadership roles within the school system.

Application requirements for reimbursement of initial certification fee:

  • Member of TSNAA
  • Achieved initial National Certification of School Nurses within the last year
  • Application due by May 30, 2025
  • Verification of non-reimbursement from another entity, such as school district, TSNO, etc.
  • Applicant must be present for the entire conference and TSNAA general meeting to receive reimbursement award

Scholarship(s) will be awarded on a first come first serve basis for up to three TSNAA members whose completed applications and required documentation are received. The scholarship committee and/or executive board will review application packets for completeness, and the application deadline will be set for several weeks prior to the June conference to allow for timely notification of the recipient(s). Scholarship awards will be presented at the end of each conference as reimbursement in the amount of $350.

Advanced Education Scholarship

The Advanced Education Scholarship (formerly known as the Katherine Jones Scholarship) is dedicated to fund the professional education of TSNAA members.

Application Requirements:

  • TSNAA member for 2 years
  • Attendance at 2 of the last 3 conferences
  • Application due by May 30, 2025

Funds are intended to assist members in furthering their professional education by reimbursing $1000 for members who are actively enrolled in an advanced education program. The Scholarship Committee and/or Executive Board will review applications once all required documents are received, and will award one scholarship per year based on the scholarship rubric on page two of the application. Scholarship recipients will be announced during the business meeting at the annual TSNAA conference.

Advanced Education Scholarship Application

TSNAA Conference Fee Grant

Members of TSNAA may apply for the TSNAA Conference Fee Grant. This grant is intended to fund the annual TSNAA Conference registration fee for members whose school districts cannot afford to pay for their school nurse leader to attend, or are not willing to pay for the conference for their school nurse leader to attend. 

  • Applicants must be an active member of TSNAA for a minimum of one year prior to the current conference year.
  • Applicants will be eligible to apply every other year.
  • Applicants must be present for the entirety of the conference.
  • Only the conference fee will be granted. The grant does not include travel, lodging or meals.
  • Application due by May 2, 2025

Funds are intended to assist TSNAA members in attending the annual conference when their district is unable to pay for the registration fee. The registration fee includes membership for the year (June to June). The Scholarship Committee and/or Executive Board will review applications once all required documents are received and will make their selection prior to the conference.
